Mosaic Phase 2 - Gladstone & Booth
Looking west along Gladstone Avenue from Booth Street toward Rochester Street, the avenue bends gently, framing a view of Hobin Architecture's Mosaic Phase 2 development. Capturing buildings in their unfinished state is particularly compelling. They are often at their most visually expressive, full of colour, projecting volumes, and full of construction tension. These transitional moments are fleeting and quickly forgotten once construction is complete. At the time of this painting, Mosaic 2 was a mass of insulation and blueskin and has since been finished in brick.
